Oil/cardboard, 40,5 x 64 cm, lo. ri. inscribed JLC, on the reverse arstis's stamp. - Danish landscape painter. C. studied at the Copenhagen academy under W. Marstrand. 1865-67 he travelled for the first time France and Italy, a place where he was to return several times. As early as 1855 he exhibited at the Copenhagen academy, later, among others, also in Paris, London, Chicago and Munich. In 1871 he won the Thorvaldsen medal. Mus.: Copenhagen, Aarhus.
