H. 25 cm. - German painter, draughtsman and graphic artist, first studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in Barmen-Elberfeld, then at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under Hugo von Habermann. Study trips took him to Italy, France and Norway, and he finally settled in Berlin, where he became close friends with Käthe Kollwitz. Mus.: Berlinische Galerie.
