Oil/canvas, 46,5 x 61,5 cm, lo. ri. sign. Knispel. - German painter. The First World War put an end to his studies of literature and art history in Marburg. After military service, he switched to architecture and painting in Berlin, among others as a student of Ph. Franck. Extensive travels took him through Europe and North Africa where he exhibited in Tunis, among other places. In 1935 he received a scholarship from the Villa Massimo.
