Late 1970s. Carved lime wood. Signed 'FLATH'. H. 87 cm. - Provenance: Acquired from the artist in 1978; private property Hamburg. - German wooden sculptor, painter and draftsman. 1922 - 1924 apprenticeship by the ivory carver Karl Schneider, 1928 - 1930 education at the Kiel School of Art and Crafts, then at the Hamburg State School of Art. Since 1932 as a freelancer in Kiel and foundation of the art association Kiel, since 1936 own workshop in Bad Segeberg. Numerous works in Hamburg.
