Oil/canvas, 34,5 x 52,5 cm, lo. ri. sign. and dat. P. Mönsted Vallensbek 1922. - Provenance: Private collection Denmark. - Danish landscape and portrait painter. M. started his training at the Aarhus drawing school and at the drawing school of P.J. Krøyer, 1876-79 he studied at the Copenhagen academy. Afterwards he travelled to Italy, Switzerland, Algeria and Greece, where he portrayed the royal family. In 1883 he continued his studies in the studio of W. A. Bouguerau in Paris. M.s landscapes were succesful at all major European exhibitions. Mus.: Aalborg, Tivoli, Bautzen. Lit.: Thieme-Becker, Weilbach.
