Designed and initial moulding 1929, one of 3 posthumous casts from the 1980s. Brown patinated bronze. On the plinth rim sign. 'Warrior'. Plinth rim scratched. H. 25,5 cm, plinth h. 1 x w. 11,5 x d. 8,5 cm. - - The present posthumous cast was made by Hajo Krieger (1922-2011), the artistically ambitious son of the sculptor, who throughout his life attempted to document his father's scattered oeuvre, including by making posthumous casts using original moulds, to which, however, he added an 'H' next to the sign (removed in the present ex.). - Literature: Cat. Rais. 173. - German sculptor. After an apprenticeship as a decorative painter, Krieger studied briefly at the Kunstgewerbeschule München in 1906/07 and trained as a self-taught sculptor from 1901. From 1907 he participated in the exhibitions of the Munich Secession, the large Berlin art exhibitions and from 1937-1944 in the annual Great German Art Exhibition at the Haus der Kunst.
