Meissen, designed 1897, made after 1973. White porcelain. Model no. '73415'. Crossed swords mark. Incised line. Ball lost. H. 31 cm.  - A German sculptor and medallion maker, studied 1880 - 1883 at the Berlin Academy, created a number of designs for KPM Berlin, Rosenthal and the Schwarzburger Werkstätten. In 1897 Schott produced his most famous work, the female ball player, as a life-size bronze sculpture for the flower garden at the southern end of the Königsallee in Düsseldorf.
