LvH, matted and framed under glass, uninspected out of frame. - German painter, graphic artist and designer, one of the most important Jugendstil artists. H. sudied at the Dresden academy since 1893, thereafter in Karlsruhe and at the Académie Julian in Paris. He was co-founder of the avantgardist 'Gruppe der XI' in Berlin in 1892. In 1903 he became professor in Weimar, in 1916 in Dresden.
