Gelatin Silver Print, 30 x 44,5 cm, lo. ri. autographed Henri Cartier-Bresson, lo. le. blind stamp of the artist. - The photo shot in 1934 was here copied around 2000. - French photographer, arguably one of the most famous exponents of his profession. C.-B. began studying painting under A. Lhote in 1927, but in 1930 turned to photography; P. Strand in New York was one of his teachers. In 1947 he was among the co-funders of the photographic cooperative Magnum. He was the first photographer ever to exhibit in the Louvre; his works also featured the Documenta in 1977. His black and white photos are always perfectly composed, and C.-B. attached great importance to capture the decisive moment of events. Mus.: New York (MoMA).
