Tibet, c. 1900. Gilt, partly brown patinated bronze with inlaid stones. Buddha in free-falling robes and rich embellishments seated on a lotus base upon a tree-step throne decorated with elephants. His head and body adorned by 3 floral halos, his right hand performing the gesture of thouching the ground (bhumisparsa mudra), his left hand holding a vessel. With his eyes half closed he smiles mildly. H. 43,5 cm.
