Tempera/paper/cardboard, each 80 x 60 cm, each sign. Peiner, one dat. 61, on the reverse estate label. - Provenance: Private collection Rheinland-Pfalz. - German artist. After serving the army in WW I P. studied at the Düsseldorf academy. He was made professor at the same academy in 1933, in 1936 he became member of the Preußischen Akademie der Künste. P. also made designs for tapestries, among other on commission of the Ethiopian emporer Haile Selassie. Mus.: Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Bonn and others. Lit.: Thieme-Becker, Vollmer.
