Meissen, 20th cent. Elegant shape with articulated shoulder and tall neck. The surface completely covered with dense, red-blue flower decoration with yellow highlights. The foot sign. 'BH'. Crossed swords mark, incised model no. 'E 164'. The mouth prof. rest. H. 70 cm. - Bretschneider has used a vase from around 1900, which he found in the manufactory storage. On this unique piece he realised a large floral motif, demonstrating his characteristic airy style. - Contemporary porcelain artist, who begun his training with 16 years as flower painter for the Meissen manufactory, since 1985 also active in the design of the exterior of public buildings, e.g. in 2001 he created the monumental wall painting on porcelain 'The most beautiful castles, palaces and gardens in Saxonia' for the entrance hall of Dresden-Neustadt station (together with Heinz Werner).
