Gargioni, Torino. - Ucrainian-French paintress, graphic artist, designer and illustrator. As an orphan D. was raised by an uncle in St. Petersburg. 1903-05 she studied at the Karlsruhe academy, thereafter she continued her studies at the Académie de la Palette in Paris. In 1910 she married Robert Delaunay. She transferred formal principles of modern art to applied arts. Her designs live by colour and rhythm.
