Copenhage, 1933-44 and 1945-77. Silver, stamped '925.S', 'DENMARK', 'STERLING', mm.: 'GJ' in a rectangle for Georg Jensen, the french import mark 'IMPORTE DANEMARK DE', 'GJ' with a tower on the coffee pot and mm.: 'Georg Jensen' in a dotted circle on the other set parts, modelno. '80 A'. 3 parts: coffee pot (h. 17,5 cm), sugar pot (h. 8 cm) and milk jug (h. 6,5 cm). Walling with a Martelé decor, handles and knobs from ebony. Overall weight approx. 665 g. (Comp. Laskey, Taylor: Georg Jensen. Holloware. The Silver Fund Collection, p. 34, 78) - Danish silversmith, 1895-1901 Studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen, then worked in the studio of the Danish court jeweler Michelsen. In 1904 opening of his own studio in Copenhagen where Jensen first produced works in the Art Nouveau style. Soon after he founded the company Georg Jensen, which is famous for their designs in the functional style of the Danish industrial designs.
