Z. worked for publishing houses before studying in Berlin since 1973. A self-taught painter he soon came in contact with artists like K.-H. Hödicke a. Salome. In 1977 he was co-founder of the Galerie am Moritzplatz in Berlin. In 1979 he won the Karl-Schmidt-Rottluff-scholarship, in 1983 the Villa Massimo prize. Z. travelled extensively all of his life. His works were on display in many one man shows.
