German, probably Nuremberg, 16th cent. Bronze with black-green patina, h. 22 cm, w. 20,5 cm, material thickness ca 4mm. Mounted on velvet. - The multi-figure composition is based on a sandstone triptych by Veit Stoß in the Sebaldus Church in Nuremberg (1499). The bronze relief probably was created in one of the local bronze workshops and was thought as decoration for an epitaph or a bronze-door. - Provenance: Private Collection Lower Saxony.
