Copenhagen, after 1945. Silver, stamped 'Sterling Denmark', mm.: 'Georg Jensen' in . Design Johan Rohde for Georg Jensen from 1917. Comprising 146 parts: 12 knives (l. 20,5 cm), 12 forks, 12 spoons, 12 menue knives (l22,5 cm), 12 menue forks, 12 menue spoons, 12 fish knives (l. 21 cm), 12 fish forks, 12 tea spoons, 6 mocca spoons, 4 salad forks, 4 pastry forks, 4 serving forks, 4 butter knives, 2 sauce ladles, 1 bottle opener, 2 small serving spoons, 1 cake lifter, 1 pastry lifter, 7 pieces serving cutlery, 2 pieces salad servers. (Comp. Georg Jensen. A tradition of splendid Silver, p. 272). - Danish silversmith, 1895-1901 Studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen, then worked in the studio of the Danish court jeweler Michelsen. In 1904 opening of his own studio in Copenhagen where Jensen first produced works in the Art Nouveau style. Soon after he founded the company Georg Jensen, which is famous for their designs in the functional style of the Danish industrial designs.
