Copenhagen, around 1929. Silver, stamped 'Denmark Sterling', 'GI 925S' in dotted oval, mm: 'Georg Jensen' in dotted oval with crown (1925-32) and 'GI' in dotted oval (lid of sugar bowl, 1915-32), as well as model no.: '2C' and '2D'. Design by Georg Jensen from 1905. Comprising 4 parts: coffee pot (h. 21 cm), tea pot (h. 14,2 cm), sugar bowl and creamer jug. Corpus on three claw feet, wall slightly hammered and lids with stylized magnolia blossoms. Handles from ivory. Each with dedication engraving on bottom (partly shortened): 'Irma Hoffman Guggenheimer and Clarence M. Guggenheimer - 1929'. Overall weight approx. 1625 g. (Lit. Georg Jensen. Holloware. The Silver Fund Collection, p. 32 and 39). - Danish silversmith, 1895-1901 Studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen, then worked in the studio of the Danish court jeweler Michelsen. In 1904 opening of his own studio in Copenhagen where Jensen first produced works in the Art Nouveau style. Soon after he founded the company Georg Jensen, which is famous for their designs in the functional style of the Danish industrial designs.
