Denmark, 1930-1945 and after 1945. Silver, stamped, 'Sterling', 'Denmark', manufacturers mark.: 'GJ' in a rectangle for Georg Jensen (1930-1945, tea pot) in beaded oval (after 1945, creamer and sugar box) as well as model no. '80 A'. Design by Georg Jensen, 1915. Comprising 3 parts: tea pot (h. 13,5 cm) with a long handle and slip lid, sugar box with slip lid and creamer with long handle. Each corpus with slight hammering decor. Ebony wooden handles and knobs (screwed) with beaded rim decor. Min. traces of age. Overall weight approx. 680 g. (Comp. Janet Drucker: Georg Jensen. A tradition of splendid silver, p. 218). - Danish silversmith, 1895-1901 Studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen, then worked in the studio of the Danish court jeweler Michelsen. In 1904 opening of his own studio in Copenhagen where Jensen first produced works in the Art Nouveau style. Soon after he founded the company Georg Jensen, which is famous for their designs in the functional style of the Danish industrial designs.
