2005/2006. Antimonial lead cast, produced by the 'Atelier für Kunstformung Ulrich Wolff, Karlsruhe'. At the bottom sign. and num.: 'griffelkunst 2006 St. Balkenhol B ß005', h. 33,5 cm, plinth 18 x 8 cm. - Balkenhol created the sculpture of the young man on the occasion of the 2005 Graphic award as edition for the Griffelkunst, 2008 followed the motif of the young woman. - German sculptor. 1976 - 1982 studies at the Hamburg Art Academy under Ulrich Rückriem, then teaching at the Städelsches Kunstinstitut in Frankfurt, since 1992 professorship at the Art Academy in Karlsruhe. The main focus of his oeuvre is the human being, characteristical for his work are coarsely finished and polychrome painted wooden sculptures. B. created many works for the public space at home and abroad.
