D. Christian & son, Meisenthal, around 1900. Colourless glass with violet underlay and light-green overlay. Continous decor in high etching: Umbellifer plant. At the bottom sign. 'D Christian Meisenthal Loth.' (incised). H. 26 cm. - - A french glass painter, who ranks among the most talented glass artists of the art nouveau along with Emile Gallé. Following his training as a glass painter he headed since 1877 the decorations atelier in Meisenthal and cooperated with Gallé and Burgun, Schverer & Co. Around 1898 he founded his own workshop D.
