Unterweißbach, Schwarzburger Werkstätten, around 1908/09. Porcelain with polychrome painting. Blind stamp foxmark and model's no. 'U7'. H. 45 cm. - Literature: S. Wallner u.a.: Schwarzburger Werkstätten für Porzellankunst. Hohenberg/Eger 1993, p. 27 u. 96. - - A German sculptor and modeller. Hermann Hosaeus studied 1891/92 at the School of Arts and Crafts in Dresden and 1892-94 in Nuremberg by Heinrich Schwabe. 1894 - 1896 he stayed at the Munich Academy under Wilhelm von Ruemann and then at the Berlin Academy as the masterpupil of Reinhold Begas. He designed a lot of monuments and front decoration, among them the Mozart Monument in Dresden.
