He studied at the Wroclaw art school under A. Bräuer, thereafter at the Munich academy under K. Raupp, J. C. Herterich a. W. von Diez. In 1892 he settled in his native town a. opened a painting school. 1922/23 he also had a studio in the Wroclaw zoo.
