1988. Carbon pencil on paper, lo. le. dat. '1988.2' and sign. 'Zhou Chunya' (周春芽). In glass frame, unopened. 117,5 x 81 cm. - contemporary Chinese artist, livin and working in Chengdu. Renowned for his 'Green dog' series, in which he depicts his passed away dog, a German shepherd. He studied at the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, during the cultural revolution traveled to Tibet to depict rural scenes according to the guidlines of the political propaganda. Afterward went to Germany, Kassel, for further studying, where he was influenced strongly by the German expressionists. 2010 he was honoured by a retrospection at the Shanghai Art Museum. - Prov.: from a private German collection. Acquired in the mid 90s from a friends of the artist.
