Meissen, around 1740. Lidded box in form of a heart with a naturalistically formed knob with polychrome painted vivid flowers. Allover decorated with flowers in purple monochrome. Crossed swords mark. Very min. chip. L. 10,5 cm. - This stylised kind of flower painting was introduced around 1730. Flower prints were copied after botanical editions, adopting their somehow stiff character and shadowed rims (therefore also called 'ombrierte Malerei').
