Sterlingsilver marked 'Sterling Denmark', MM: Georg Jensen. 62 pieces: 6 menu knive, 6 menu forks and 6 menu spoons (Knives with Georg Jensen steel blade, L. 19,8 - 22,5 cm, 1 fork reverse engraved 'Tom 3.4.1960'), 6 dessert knives, 6 dessert forks and 6 dessert spoons (L. 17 - 19,5 cm with Georg Jensen steel blades), 6 coffe and 6 tea spoons (l. 11,2 - 12,7 cm), 6 cake forks (l. 14,9 cm), 1 cake server (l. 22,5 cm), 1 sauce ladle (L. 20,5 cm), 1 large vegetable spoon (L. 24,8 cm), 2 pieces salad server (L. 21,5 cm), 1 meat fork (L. 21 cm), 1 butter knive (L. 15,5 cm), 1 slicing fork Aufschnittgabel (L. 11 cm). Gew. in total without knives approx. 2050 g. - Danish silversmith, 1895-1901 Studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen, then worked in the studio of the Danish court jeweler Michelsen. In 1904 opening of his own studio in Copenhagen where Jensen first produced works in the Art Nouveau style. Soon after he founded the company Georg Jensen, which is famous for their designs in the functional style of the Danish industrial designs.
