Cover of a poplar burl trunk. H. 145 cm, sloping wooden base: 23 x 64 x 30 cm. - Peter Wagensonner conducts a dialogue with the wood...step by step the bodies are revealed. Thinking with his hands, the artist creates a symbol of the interior without showing it himself. Only the shell is witness to the inside' (Cit. Nadja Plagens). - After training as a nurse and later as a wood turner, W. co-founded the artist group 'OK9' in Munich and built up his own studio from 1987 onwards. In 1996 he moved to Kleeberg, district of Passau, and in 2010 he received the cultural award of the district of Passau. - His preferred material is wood or the trunk.
