1975. Bronze, dark brown, partially green patinated, partially polished. On the l. side of the foot sign. 'Wunderlich', on the upper side numbered copy '847/1000', on the r. side of the foot foundry stamp 'cerapersa venturi', Venturi Arte, Bolgna. Figure: h. 47 cm, marble base: h. 12 cm. - Provenance: Wolfgang Brudermüller Collection; since then by inheritance. - Graphic artist, painter, draftsman and sculptor. W. studied in Hamburg from 1947, among his fellow students were Horst Janssen and Reinhard Drenkhahn. From 1951 he held a lectureship in graphics at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Hamburg. He subsequently worked as a printer for Emil Nolde and Oskar Kokoschka. W. lived in Paris for a while before accepting a professorship at the HfBK in Hamburg in 1963. From the end of the 1960s he also began to work sculpturally. With elongated and surreal alienated figures, he often staged erotic themes.
