Oval body with curved pleats, on 4 rocaille feet, 2 rocaille handles on the sides, lid with crown on cushion, painted coats of arms on the front and back, applied cartouches with fine gallant scenes, white plastically applied flower festoons and bouquets. - The model for this small 'Drüselkästchen', which served to store threads, is the crown tureen for Maria Josefa of Austria, wife of August III, designed by Kaendler in 1738. Meissen. 20th cent. Porcelain, partly gilded, colourfully painted. H. 15 cm, 18,5 x 13 cm. Sword mark. Crown min. dam. -
