Oil/canvas, 60,5 x 70 cm, up. ri. sign. and dat. Ernst Liebermann Mchn 26, on the stretcher titled 'Die weisse Rose'. - German portrait, figure and landscape painter. L. studied 1890-93 at the Berlin academy under J. Scheurenberg. After travelling extensively, among others to Paris and Italy, he settled in Munich in 1897. He worked as illustrator, among others for the Jugendstil magazine 'Jugend' before turning to painting. L. exhibited regularly in the Munich Glaspalast and was awarded a medal in 1913.
