China. Bronze, partially gilt and with brown patina. Seated Bodhisattva, upright and dignified, on a lion, his left hand in 'karanamudra', in his right hand holding the ruyi-szeptre. At the bottom and on his back six-character mark of the Ming dynasty, Xuande reign. Age-related corrosion and small chips. H. 28 cm.
