According to that the painting is from the 1640s. - The painting from the height of Brueghels artistical career fascinates by the lively colours, the change from the brown hill in the foreground over the green forest to the light blue background at the utmost right and last not least by the jewel-like delicacy of the leafs and the parrots so typical for Brueghel. The many shades of green contrast effectively the bright female figures by van Balen. - History, landscape a. flower painter, son a. pupil of Jan B. I.
