Jacopo Amigoni (Neapel 1682 - Madrid 1752, circle of) - Sell & Buy
Italian history and portrait painter, one of the most important masters of Rococo. Nothing is known about A.s training. By style he must have learned painting in the workshops of F. Solimena and L. Giordano. Soon after he went to Venice. Since 1717 he painted frescoes for the castles Nymphenburg and Schleißheim and the abbey Ottobeuren in Bavaria. In 1730 he settled in London and returned to Italy only in 1739. He was made painter to the Royal Spanish court in 1747.
