A German ebenist and entrepreneur of the early Historicism. F.s' workshop became a leader in the first half of the 19th cent and delivered his works to Russia, France and England. His speciality was a variant of the 'boulle-technique' developed in France in the 18th cent. For that masterful technical expertise he received many awards.
