The path to the successful sales of your deposit at auction:

If you would like to dissolve an estate or a larger collection then we would be happy to visit you at home in order to inspect the works of art on site and provide you with an estimate.
Of course you can also present your works of art directly at our offices during our daily opening hours (Monday - Friday 10am to 6 pm). We will make you an offer after inspecting the original piece of art and will inform you of the reserve price for the auction.
If you decide to deposit your property then we will agree an auction contract with you. The duration of the auction contract is four months. We would be pleased to send you the conditions on request.
The auction contract includes all the information on the auction and the objects: a list of all objects, their reserve price, the commission and the contractual conditions. Of course commission will only be charged in the event of a sale.
We are happy to help you organise transport or arrange collection. We can also support you in the organisation of restoration and conservation work if necessary and desired.
Transparency is important to us. You will not experience any nasty surprises with us, which is why the regulations are made clear.
We will only charge a commission of 18% of the sale price plus VAT on this commission if the sale is completed successfully.
Special conditions can be agreed for high value individual objects or for dissolving important collections.
Auktionshaus Stahl will not charge you for images in print and online media.
The auction catalogue appears approximately three weeks before the auction as an online version or also as a print version.
All the objects are included in the German and English language online catalogue with art history descriptions by our experts and pictures, free of charge. These are selective in the optional print catalogue.
We advertise our auctions both in classic print media in national and international art and daily newspapers and online. We also offer all the objects on both our company and various international Internet platforms and relevant international auction databases and increase the chances of selling your object through different marketing activities, e.g. newsletter, press reports, adverts in international specialist publications and supra-regional newspapers. As an accompanying measure we achieve additional attention through the possibility of Live Bidding.
Viewing takes place during a period of one week before the auction. We present the articles in the auction stylishly over several exhibition levels in the historical surroundings of our city villa.
At the auction the auctioneer takes both the floor bids and the written bids from absent bidders, telephone bids and online bids into account with the aim of achieving the optimal market price for your object. Once the highest bidder is successful the sale is completed. The proceeds of the auction are paid out by bank transfer or crossed check in a period of four to six weeks after the auction, subject to incoming payments. You will receive the written settlement of your sales promptly by post. If objects in the auction remain unsold we will offer this in the subsequent free sale period for approximately four weeks, still at the agreed reserve price.
