Austrian landscape and portrait painter. F. studied 1904-13 at the Vienna academy, among others under Chr. Griepenkerl. Since 1910 he exhibited at the Wiener Künstlerhaus. In WW I he was war painter. Since the 1920s he became a sought-after portrait painter. Mus.: Berlin (Nat.-Gal.), Stockholm (Nat. Mus.), Düsseldorf, Vienna, Geneva a. others. Lit.: AKL, Vollmer a. others.
