Expressionist painter, graphic artist a. writer, studied 1903-05 at the Breslau art school, 1906-07 he continued his studies at the Académie Colarossi in Paris, where became friends with A. Modigliani, in Berlin he exhibited among others at Cassirer a. became a sought-after portrait painter, was defamed in the 'Third Reich', in 1939 he emigrated to London but returned to Germany in 1953.
