David Hockney (Bradford 1937) - Sell & Buy
Painter, set designer and photographer, one of the most important and well-known contemporary artists. H. studied at the Royal College of Art in London from 1959. Until 1963 he had several teaching positions in the U.S. and Germany, since then he has worked freelance. The swimming pool motifs that are so characteristic of the artist already date from this period. H. was a multiple Documenta participant. He was also among the co-founders of the Los Angeles Museum of Modern Art. Mus.: London (Tate), Paris (Centre Pompidou), Los Angeles (LaCMA), Köln (Mus. Ludwig), Chicago (Art Institute) a. others.
