Nancy. The model around 1884. Red earthenware with white tin glaze, painted with brownblack patchwork. Pink necklace with lettering and medaillon with a bully as harlequin. Glued-in glass eyes. On her right hindfoot sign. in brown 'Gallé Nancy'. Rest., small chips. H. 34 cm. - The models of the sitting cats were created after models by the ceramic animal sculpture in Eastern Asia. They were arranged in pairs and were thought of as humorous decoration in the contemporary salons. - Literature: Comp.: B. Hakenjos, Emile Gallé, München 2012, v. I, p. 58f. u. v.
