Berlin, KPM, design 1940, executed around 1953. White porcelain. Large composition of the sea god Triton holding up a pearl, with resting nereid and putto at his feet. Sceptre mark, impressed Greek Psi (year mark 1953). Fingers of Triton's r. hand min. rest. H. 53 cm. - Literature: See: Köllmann/Jarchow, Berliner Porzellan, 1987, vol. II, p. 409, fig. 246. - - German graphic artist, sculptor and one of the most popular porcelain sculptors of the first half of the 20th cent. After his studies at the Berlin Academy he designed numerous models for Hutschenreuther, the Schwarzburger Werkstätten, Nymphenburg, KPM Berlin and Meissen (111 models!).
