1977. Sterling-Silver (925/1000), MM: KGH (=Karl Gustav Hansen), h. 16,5 cm, w. 20 cm, d. 11 cm, stamped on the plinth 'MANZU', numbered copy '13/199'. Ca. 3000 g. With original wooden box. - The silver-sculpture comes from the series 'ars mundi argentea', issued by Editiones Hans Hansen, Kolding, Denmark. - Expertise: With certificate by Editiones Hans Hansen from 6 March 1978. - Italian sculptor, medal maker, draftsman. Manzù ranks among the most important Italian sculptors of Modern Art. From 1940-54 he was professor for sculpture at the Academia di Brera in Milan and was awarded several prizes. Usually he worked in bronze and was influenced by Rodin and Degas. - His major works include the bronze doors of Saint Peter in Rome (1952), of the Cathedral Saint Peter in Salzburg (1958) or Saint Laurentz in Rotterdam.
