Ca. 1800, oil/canvas, 35,5 x 51,5 cm, lo. middle inscribed 'J. Lingelbach 1675'. - French landscape a. marine painter. M. was taught painting in the studio of A. van der Kabel. He settled in Rome where he became member of the Accademia di San Luca in 1735. One year later he was also made member of the Paris academy. One of his pupils was C.-J. Vernet.
