WH 1912, lo. le. inscribed 'Marotlaka April', framed under glass, uninspected out of frame. - German landscape, portrait and still life painter. H. studied with a scholarship under C. O. Czeschka and F. Adler in Hamburg until 1909. Thereafter he traveled extensively,among others to Italy, Belgium, Hungary and the Balcans. 1925-31 he was teacher at the Hamburg Kunstgewerbeschule.
