China, Qing-dynasty (1644-1911). Fire-gilt bronze with partly dark patina. Sitting Buddha with crossed legs on a richly embellished pedestal. The hands resting in the lap and the eyes with downward expression. At the chest a swastika-ornament (wan) as a symbol of infinity. Mandorla with chrysanthemum-border. In the relief of the base the '8 Buddhist symbols'. Overall height 30 cm.
