Oil/canvas, 34 x 36,5 cm, lo. le. sign. Brauer, on the reverse titled 'Herbstausflug'. - Austrian multi-talented artist, one of the main exponents of School of Fantastic Realism. He studied until 1951at the Vienna acamedy, among others under R. C. Andersen a. R. Gütersloh. During that time he founded the so called Vienna School of Fantastic Realism together with E. Fuchs, R. Hauser a. others. B. lived in Israel a. France, making his living as a singer. He had his first one man show in Paris. Back in Vienna in 1964 his succees as painter a. singer continued. B. created stage designs for the opera houses in Vienna, Paris a. Zurich. In 1991 he began to design the Arik Brauer house in Vienna. 1986-97 he was professor at the Vienna academy.
