China, probably late Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Green-brown patinated bronze in characteristic rectangular shape with articulated shoulder and domed cover. At the shoulder heavy ring handles. All sides of the wall with rich relief decoration including taotie masks and mythical beasts on a leiwen ground, the lower section with lancet-shaped decoration. H. 30,5 cm.
