Bronze with darkbrown patina, black marble plinth with frieze relief, figure h. 66 cm, plinth h. 20 cm, labelled 'J. de Bologne', numb. 113, small dam. - Mercury is one of the major works of Giovanni Bologna, called Giambologna, Master of the Italian Late Mannerism. In 1580 he was original designed for a fountain of Palazzo Medici in Florence Florentine and is now in the Museo Nazionale del Bargello.
