Japan, around 1800 (Edo-period 1603-1868). Ceramic with fine ivory-coloured craquelé glaze and polychrome painting. Ovoid body with 2 covers. At the front a large floral depiction. Verso a smaller bouquet. Large ornamental border at the shoulder and the neck. Early example of an Satsuma-ware piece from the Kwansei-period (1787-1800). Manufactory mark. On wooden base. Min. worn.
