Japan, Meiji-period (1868-1912). Porcelain with colourful painting, partly in gold. Globe bodied baluster form with cover and two dragon-handles. On each side a large reserve on a red-orange underground with rich gold ornamentation. At the front a painting with hen and rooster, verso a bird"s nest. At the neck large flower ornament. Cover handle in the shape of a lion with pear, coloured in red and gold. Manufactory mark. Partly craquelé. H. 40,5 cm.
