Around 1987 (Large Size). Bronze, black patinated. H. 32 cm. Monogrammed, according to the artist's daughter, one of three casts. Expressive depiction of the naked Eve, crouching on a rock, leaning heavily to one side as she tries to maintain her balance. Also featured as a large sculpture in a public space in Kiel. Included as an addition: a woodcut by the artist, titled in pencil and signed on the reverse - German sculptor, studied art history, architecture and metal sculpture and was a student of Gerhard Marcks. Since 1958 Max Schegulla lived and worked as a sculptor in the Hanstedt district of Dierkshausen in the Nordheide. His diverse oeuvre includes numerous works in public spaces in Hamburg, Kiel, Bochum and Dortmund, winged altars, leaded glass windows and color prints.
